In the City of Brookline, Massachusetts (pop. 57,107) there are 719 licensed therapists and social workers, or one for every 79 persons and/or every 17 families there.
Of those therapists, 416 are social workers. That must make it the most emotionally deranged place on the planet. I wonder if they are all going to therapy with each other? At least we know what to look out for now, by asking the next social worker we see, "Are you from Brookline, Massachusetts?"
The only thing that could be worse is if there were that many lawyers.
