The Weeping Restraining Order Manipulators

The best actor awards aren't just on the Oscar show. They should be given out for best fake tears at a restraining order hearing.

In the last three restraining order hearings I have done, in three different courts, the woman became hysterical during the hearings. It worked once out of the three, but the judge saw through it in the other two and did not grant the orders. It is almost as if the victim-witness advocates are now advising them to weep, wail, cry and fuss.

However, it sure looked like Bill Clinton tears to me, when the hysteria was turned off and on like a faucet. It is amazing to see the smug look on almost every woman when, after getting an order, she turns to leave the courtroom and the judge can no longer see her face.

The hysteria ploy is particularly effective with a male judge, because men wish to be naturally protective of a woman (and I don't criticize that impulse), so a woman can readily manipulate the situation.

We need to change the law, so that it requires a higher standard of proof, actual evidence, and true due process, so the best actor does not win.
